An estate agent has teamed up with St Oswald’s Hospice to give a home to a new charity initiative.
Sarah Mains Residential has launched The Donation Stations, which are part of a new scheme that will see St Oswald’s partnering with local businesses across the North East, which in turn encourage staff and customers to bring donations into work, which are then sent on to hospice shops.
The estate agent is the first company to get on board with the scheme and will be launching the stations at branches in Gosforth, Jesmond, Low Fell and Whickham.
Company founder Sarah Mains, said: “I’m delighted to support St Oswald’s as I have always been a huge admirer of their work.
“Each year the hospice has to raise over £6.5m through voluntary giving, which is no mean feat at all. I’m encouraging my employees and customers to donate unwanted items to St Oswald’s as the money it raises will really help their work.
“The specialist care St Oswald’s provides for local adults, young people and children – at no charge – is absolutely amazing.
“The donation stations aren’t huge and won’t get in the way so it was a no brainer as far as I was concerned.”
