Sage Gateshead has taken over the management of Gateshead Old Town Hall as a new venue for intimate performances and a hub for community music-making.
The Grade II listed building will be opening up to the public with a free launch party on Saturday January 11. Workshops and taster sessions in singing and music will be held during the day-long special event.
Katherine Zeserson, director of learning and participation at Sage Gateshead, said: “Gateshead Council approached us to take over the running of the building as they wanted new life breathed into the venue and to turn it into a vibrant, buzzing hub for the community. We were very keen to take the project on.”
