New face on board at Saberlight as growth plans step up

Web design agency Saberlight of Gateshead has recruited a new business development manager as it steps up its growth plans

A web design agency has appointed a new business development manager as it puts its expansion plans into action.

Saberlight Digital, based at the Northern Design Centre, Gateshead, has hired Umar Yusufu, 35, to handle the new business arm of the company.

Yusufu, who has a background in business communications and management, will oversee both new and existing client relationships for the year-old company.

He said: “I am joining the company at a very exciting time.

“It has grown rapidly since it’s inception and continues to do so.

“Saberlight has doubled its staff since launch and we are looking to the future with big plans.”

Saberlight Digital was founded jointly by North East entrepreneurs David Calvert, 37, and Simon Reavley, 32, in response to market-led demand for more persuasive and engaging online solutions.

The company, which boasts an eight-strong team of IT and online marketing specialists, works with clients to to maximise website usability for end users and customers, building web and mobile solutions which are tailor made each time.

Saberlight has a customer base ranging from the healthcare and education sectors and local councils as well as SMEs and online retailers.

Amcare, Northumberland College, Gateshead Council and interiors company Delcor are all clients on the books. Calvert said: “We are very pleased with the direction thecompany is heading and excited to have our new business development manager on board.

“We have grown significantly in the past year out of an identified need in the digital marketplace to focus on customer engagement and user experience.”
