PWC has appointed a new Yorkshire and North East regional leader.

Ian Morrison, audit partner and PwC’s head of assurance in the North, succeeds Ian Green, who takes up a national role as UK leader for business recovery services.

Morrison started his new role on January 1 and now leads the firm’s Yorkshire and North East business, which includes more than 1,000 partners and staff across its Newcastle, Hull, Leeds and Sheffield offices.

He has been with PwC since 1992 and has been a partner for the last eight years, spending the last five years heading the firm’s assurance team across the North, which comprises 750 partners and staff in six offices.

Morrison said: “It is an exciting time to be taking on this role, particularly as the Newcastle office itself goes through an exciting period of change with the appointment of Bill MacLeod to office senior partner and moving to its new premises.

“I look forward to supporting this transition and helping to continue the growth the office has seen over recent years.

“I aim to play a key role in leading our team as we continue to help our clients achieve their objectives, grow and support the wider economic recovery.”
