The recommended Stephen Crute regularly advises police authorities on public and employer's liability, defamation, bullying, harassment and "failure to educate" claims. Highlights include successfully defending the high-profile case of Oliver v Northumbria Police, a pivotal high-value defamation claim. Rod Searl and David Taylor are both "talented practitioners".

Dickinson Dees has an enviable client base of central and local government, health and education bodies. The strong team includes Rowan Ferguson, who has considerable expertise in advising education bodies, and Iain Greenshields, who is experienced in handling projects work. In 2005 the firm was appointed to the national panel of advisers for Building Schools for the Future and was also appointed (along with Ward Hadaway) to act for Newcastle City Council.
