PR stars honoured at 10th CIPR PRide Awards

The North East’s finest public relations companies were honoured on Thursday night through the 10th annual North East CIPR PRide Awards at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead

The big winner on the night was Cool Blue Brand Communications, which picked up eight gold awards, including multiple wins for its ‘There’s Something New on the Horizon’ campaign aimed at changing perceptions of Redcar and Cleveland’s seafront building, as well as for its work for DigitalCity.

It was also a triumphant evening for freelance practitioner Kate Slater, who picked up the prize for ‘Best Freelance Practitioner’, along with gold awards in the Low Budget Campaign and Healthcare Campaign categories.

Expanding PR and marketing firm Ramarketing also took home three awards, while the most prestigious accolades went to Admiral PR & Marketing and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, who won ‘Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy’ and ‘Outstanding In-House Public Relations Team’ respectively.

Chair of the CIPR North East group Chris Taylor MCIPR said he was delighted to see “such a high standard of communications work showcased at this year’s awards”.

“It is great to see the public sector, private sector, not-for-profit organisations, sole practitioners, small and large agencies shortlisted for awards,” he added.

Other winners included DebSharratt Communications & Deerness Gymnastics Academy, Balfour Beatty WorkSmart, Footprint Public Relations and The Banks Group, East Coast, and Northumbrian Water.
