A NORTH East photographer is beating the extreme weather conditions after setting up a team of professionals she can call on from the Scottish Borders down to County Durham.

Angela Carrington set up The Bigger Picture to provide specialist PR and marketing images for clients and her photographs have appeared in the regional, national and international media.

Initially from Lancashire, Ms Carrington came to the region when she studied photography at Northumbria University 13 years ago, and she based her business in the Biscuit Factory art gallery in Newcastle.

To grow her brand she decided to use the agency concept, so she has experienced professionals available when required.

And she also invested in a four-wheel drive so she can get through the worst of the North East weather.

She said: “I did a job in rural Northumberland recently that was in two locations and the shoot was on a day when many roads were flooded.

“I was so pleased to have my Toyota truck as it not only got me to the shoot on time but I was also asked to ferry my clients there too.

“I realised quite early on that I can’t be in two places at once but my brand and my photographic style could be.

“Now my clients don’t need to worry if I am not personally available as they will have the confidence to know that anyone of my team can deliver the results needed to help with their PR or marketing needs. For my clients it will be like having their own in- house photographer but without the high costs.”
