Mr Hamilton, previously finance and operations director, was one of the group of four executives who four years ago negotiated a management buy-out of the South Tyneside business from Rolls-Royce plc.
Tees Valley Regeneration has welcomed GRAEME THOMPSON to its board. Mr Thompson is managing director and controller of programmes at ITV Tyne Tees Television. His career in journalism started at Darlington College and he was instrumental in setting up the Belasis news operation based at Billingham for Tyne Tees. Mr Thompson is chairman of the Royal Television Society in the North-East and chair of Live Theatre in Newcastle.
The Co-operative Group has appointed DAVID MOCKFORD as chief officer for its North-Eastern and Cumbrian and Northern regions, with operational responsibility for 300 supermarkets and convenience stores. David has more than 20 years' experience in food retailing, joining the Co-op as a graduate trainee in 1988. He has previously headed retail operations for the Group in the south-east and was responsible for managing the integration of the Balfour and Conveco store chains, which the Co-op acquired in 2003 and 2004, into its portfolio.
One NorthEast has appointed IAN WILLIAMS as its new director of business and industry. Ian, 41, has taken over responsibility for managing the Agency's business support, enterprise and innovation agendas. He has spent all of his 22-year career working in the North-East with DTI, Government Office for the North-East and the Northern Development Company, joining One NorthEast in July 2003.
A graphic designer has penned a new career for himself after joining Newcastle based agency, onebestway design, as account manager. Durham-based business and IT consultancy, Waterstons has appointed Dr ANNA FERGUSON as senior consultant. She joins them after working at Mars & Co, an international business strategy consultancy where she identified efficiency and effectiveness savings. She was promoted to the position of senior associate consultant after only six months. Prior to this, she worked in market risk technology for Investment Bank, Goldman Sachs. Anna holds a PHD from the University of Leeds in Electronic Engineering and degrees in Engineering from Cambridge University.
