A Sunderland technology business is set for growth, with the launch of a new brand.

Pebbletree Ltd is launching a new service, Simply66, offering businesses a virtual receptionist service to ensure calls for a range of business customers are handled efficiently and professionally.

The service, which is currently being delivered for a range of companies, adds to Pebbletree’s Soho66 business, an internet-based telephone service that boasts more than 25,000 clients.

The business, based at North Sands Business Centre in Sunderland, has recruited four members of staff to help drive the development of Simply66.

The firm has grown significantly over the last three years and now employs 17 people.

During the same period, it has grown turnover by around 42%.

Janni Thornton, managing director at Pebbletree, said: “The business really is going from strength to strength.

“Soho66 is growing quickly and we’ve enjoyed a great run of success having recently been named Best VoIP provider (Voice Over Internet Protocol) at the Internet Service Providers’ Association Awards 2014.

“We’re always exploring ways in which we can grow the business and expand our offer, and we had launched the virtual receptionist service to clients under the Soho66 brand to add a complementary offer to our customers.

“However, we believe that there is potential to significantly grow this arm of the business by launching it as a new trading arm, and so Simply66 was born.”

Cllr Paul Watson, leader of Sunderland City Council, said: “We’re fortunate in Sunderland to boast some truly innovative businesses that are developing technology that can deliver real benefits to clients. “Simply66 will, no doubt, be a strong addition to the Pebbletree portfolio, which is working with a huge number of clients across the country, and helping bolster Sunderland’s reputation as a place for innovation and technology.

“I wish the team there the very best of luck as it continues to grow.”
