The parent firm of the company behind a 4-star County Durham hotel has entered administration in a bid to restructure its finances.
UK Group of Hotels, which is the parent firm of the Hotel Collection, a separate financial entity, went into administration last week although administrators at Duff & Phelps say operations at Redworth Hall Hotel will remain unaffected.
A statement from Duff & Phelps read: “UK Group of Hotels Plc has been placed into administration to assist the restructuring of banking facilities.
“None of the subsidiaries of the Parent Company are affected by this process and all hotels will continue their day to day operations as normal.
“All staff will retain their roles, existing bookings will be honoured and new bookings taken with no affect to customers’ statutory rights, as well as all supplier relationships continuing as previously.”
Hickley-headquartered The Hotel Collection, which was rebranded from Puma Hotels Ltd earlier this year, operates a portfolio of 21 hotels and 18 health and leisure clubs across the UK.
Until April 2012 the portfolio was operated by Spanish firm Barcelo which ended its lease agreement with Puma Hotels.
