A dental practice hopes to boost its profits after becoming the first in the North East to offer a new type of fixed brace to straighten customers’ teeth.
Ewan Bramley Dental Care, based on North Shields Fish Quay, is offering the new procedure from the United States called Fastbraces which he hopes will increase turnover by 30%.
The newly-patented orthodontic technology promises to straighten teeth in three to 10 months. Traditional fixed braces can take up to two years to align teeth.
The practice is the only in the North East to be accredited by Fastbraces founder Dr Anthony Vaizis.
Bramley said if interest in the product is as he expects, he will be hiring two new members of staff to deal with the demand.
He added: “The market for invisible braces is huge with some studies saying 80% of the population is unhappy with their smile to some degree.
“In the past, options have been limited to veneers which involves damaging teeth or traditional braces which can take up to two years - not much of a choice.”
