The search is on for the North East’s best exporters with a turnover of more than £25m.
Through the North East Exporters’ Awards 2015, The Journal and its sister paper The Gazette, on Teesside, are shining the spotlight on the companies doing the most to boost the region’s export figures.
Among a wide range of categories, the Medium and Large Exporter of the Year prize is set to be particularly well contested.
Judges will look at key factors such as product range, the complexity and number of markets served, through to growth in sales and any obstacles overcome.
They will also look at whether more complex and lucrative high-growth markets, such as Brazil, China, Columbia, Egypt, Hong Kong and India among others, are served.
Last year Teesside firm Glanbia Performance Nutrition took the gong.
Operations director Jim Parr said the award recognised that successful exporting requires the combined efforts of the entire workforce.
The North East Exporters’ Awards have seen entries soar in recent years.
The event - sponsored by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC), HSBC and PD Ports - aims to highlight the strength and diversity of the region’s exporting capability.
The awards will be presented at the North East Exporters’ dinner on June 25, 2015, and will feature the following categories:
* New exporter award
* SME exporter award
* Supporting export award - sponsored by Evolution LLP
* Export team of the year award - sponsored by NECC
