North East Business Awards 2014: The wait is almost over

This Thursday, May 1st, The Journal and Evening Gazette host the biggest business party in the North East - the North East Business Awards 2014 final

North East Business Awards 2014

It's hard to believe that 12 months have passed since Port of Tyne was crowned company of the year at a glittering night at Hardwick Hall.

We are back there again on Thursday May 1st as The Journal and Evening Gazette host the biggest business party in the North East.

The marquee is taking shape and the momentum is gathering.

We have already enjoyed three sub-regional finals in the North East Business Awards and the 11 winning companies from Tyneside & Northumberland, Durham & Wearside and Teesside will go head-to-head for the regional awards.

Also we will crown the Not-For-Profit- and Best Creative Award. Among those 11 categories was a new one for 2014 - the Apprenticeship Award.

This was introduced to recognise companies who already place training and skills at the heart of what they do.

Both The Journal and Evening Gazette are proud of the role we play in the business community and beyond.

Times have been tough in recent years. But these awards have weathered the storm and it is pleasing that our efforts are being recognised through the continuing support from sponsors, particularly our associate sponsors the North East Chamber of Commerce, who have such a momentous milestone birthday coming up in 2015.

Don't miss our our coverage online on the night and in Friday's Journal and Gazette.

Good luck to each and every shortlisted business  and please wish everyone luck #nebizawards
