Non-flush urinals set to be a real asset for Eco Ad Ltd

AN environmentally-friendly urinal which never needs to be flushed and has an integrated advertising platform is being sold UK-wide by a North East business.

Eco Ad Ltd, based in Stockton, is the only company in the UK with the rights to supply pubs, universities, businesses and sports centres with Falcon porcelain urinals.

Because they never need flushing, the urinals can save up to 150,000 litres of water a year and include removable, recyclable cartridges that prevent the uric acid build-up, which can lead to blocked pipes.

The design also includes a panel that can be used to advertise products or services, and acts as a potential money spinner.

Eco Ad Ltd managing director David Porter said: “The advertising platform is a huge asset as it enables venues to generate an income stream from the urinals.

“We sell the advertising space to local and national advertisers and pay a percentage of the revenue back to the client.

“This enables them to cover their investment in less than 24 months and they then see a 55% return on their investment year on year.”

The business, which only started trading in September, has been shortlisted in the Environment category in the Best New Business Tees Valley Awards 2012.

The winners will be announced in February next year.
