SIX tagging days for farm vehicles have been arranged across the North East and Yorkshire.
The initiative is part of the NFU’s ongoing campaign against rural crime and has been organised with electronic tagging specialists Datatag.
Farmers who bring their vehicles to the events will receive a discount on tagging using anti-theft microdots and other devices, plus all vehicles and equipment will be registered with CESAR – the Construction & Agricultural Equipment Security and Registration Scheme.
More than 90,000 machines are registered with the scheme worldwide, which is designed to reduce thefts and help the police and insurance companies recover stolen equipment.
