Newcastle Racecourse’s premier hospitality package has sold out three months ahead of a major raceday.

The venue is predicting a strong performance for its summer racing highlight, the Northumberland Plate Festival, after tickets for its Diamond Marquee package sold out for feature raceday, the John Smith’s Northumberland Plate Day on June 28.

Executive director David Williamson said this showed consumers and businesses are now enjoying a return to sporting investments.

He added: “The early response we have had to Plate Day hospitality, particularly to the Diamond Marquee, which has been a real hit since it was introduced in 2011, has been phenomenal, demonstrating that there is a strong demand from the public and business community for the experience and opportunities our race days offer.”
