COMMERCIAL law firm Muckle has been appointed onto a panel of experts to provide legal advice to eleven NHS Trusts and Primary Care Trusts across the region.
Newcastle-based Muckle won a place on the panel in recognition of the high quality of its legal services and outstanding value for money, alongside its ability to help identify and implement efficiencies across the health organisations involved.
Gill Hunter, partner and head of the commercial team, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a position on this panel. We are well placed to offer the NHS Trusts legal advice in a number of key areas, including employment law, contracts, commercial law and commissioning, property law and corporate finance and PFI/PPP projects.
“This strengthens our healthcare credentials further, having also recently been appointed to work with NHS Surrey.”
The Newcastle-based law firm also provides legal advice to a number of other health-related organisations in the independent sector, including Connect Physical Health, in Cramlington.
Muckle will work on the panel for two years through the NHS Procurement North East (Prone) scheme.
Stephanie Newburn, project manager for Prone, commented: “We are happy to announce the appointment of Muckle LLP to our Legal Services Framework Agreement.
“All appointed suppliers have passed the strict stakeholders selection criteria with high marks and we look forward to working closely with them for the next two years.”
NHS Procurement North East is a “collaborative procurement organisation” working in partnership with Stakeholder Trusts in the North East Strategic Health Authority, contracting for goods and services on behalf of the NHS.
