Engineering consultancy Patrick Parsons has grown its workforce to 100 following the strategic acquisition of a Birmingham firm.

The Newcastle-headquartered business has expanded its geographic reach with the buyout of civil and structural consultancy Stewart and Harris, a 26-strong business which counts Kier Partnership Homes, Galliford Try and Capita Symonds among its clients.

Peter Stienlet, managing director of Patrick Parsons said: “From the experience we have from our other offices across the country, we know that there is potential to grow Stewart & Harris to double its current size in the next few years.”

John Dyson of Stewart and Harris said: “Patrick Parsons has an excellent reputation within the industry and the acquisition will present opportunities for us to be able to offer further engineering services such as building services, geo-environmental and energy to our clients.”

Patrick Parsons now has 100 staff over its seven offices in Newcastle, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Chester, Huddersfield and Dubai, having started up six years with one office staffed by eight employees.
