A PERSONAL trainer has vowed to get the North East fit and healthy after expanding his business and recruiting a team of seven staff.
Newcastle-based Michael Pellegrino set up Be Fit Body Management in 2005 and has now moved into its own premises after working while touring the region’s gyms over the past five years.
After contacting Business Link for advice, Mr Pellegrino moved into the first floor of a site in Kenton Shopping Centre, from where he now employs seven personal trainers.
The company plans to expand into other parts of the UK and Europe after working with athletes in the South of France.
The team were able to help former Newcastle Falcons rugby player Tom May reach his peak strength and become Player of the Year before his move to Toulon.
The business is also being supported by Mr Pellegrino’s sister Antonia, a graduate in psychology who was working as a dance teacher before deciding to get her personal trainer qualifications and get involved in the fitness venture.
She has introduced a range of new services including a range of complementary therapies such as yoga, massage and reflexology.
Mr Pellegrino said: “I have developed a strong relationship in the industry and realised there was an opportunity to set up a personal training business from a dedicated premises, which would still provide an exclusive service to clients with access to hi-tech equipment.
“We have quickly developed a strong reputation, which is testament to our fantastic facilities, services and staff. It’s extremely rewarding to be working with multi-million-pound athletes and impacting on their performances.”
