Consulting engineers Service Design Solution are building upon strong performance by expanding into the region with a Newcastle office, creating nine new jobs.
The firm, which now has 45 employees, acts as a consultancy to the construction industry, helping with the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning amongst other systems.
It has established itself in the South West, working on buildings across all areas including office, healthcare, retail, education, airport, museum and historic sectors from offices in Plymouth and Bristol.
Founder Shaun Hoppins has now opened a third regional office in Gosforth’s Regent Centre, where consultants have already brought in a series of new contracts which will help the business lift turnover by more than 40% in the coming year.
Revenues in fees currently stand at £1.7m but Hoppins expects sales to reach at least £2.4m in the next financial year as a result of new business coming in from Newcastle.
Shaun’s father Michael Hoppins, previous winner of prestigious Business Link’s Business of The Year Award with his firm 3Phase Electrical Distributors Ltd, currently runs Eighty Twenty Business Consultants in Newcastle and he has joined the board at SDS as an executive director.
