Manufacturer Ebac has added a new factory to its County Durham operations to aid its expansion, continuing its investment in growth and jobs.

The firm is expanding into the former home of Radius Products on the Aycliffe Industrial Park, Newton Aycliffe, as it looks to add new product streams and hundreds of jobs.

The company, which makes water coolers and dehumidifiers, has recently added its range of air source heat pumps to the products manufactured at its existing site, where it employs 200 people.

Following the beginning of development work to start manufacturing washing machines in 2014, and the recent acquisition of the Norfrost chest freezer brand and production facilities, the company aims to increase the workforce to up to 400.

Pamela Petty, managing director of Ebac, said: “This expansion is part of our ongoing commitment to County Durham.”
