NOF Energy, the Durham-based business development organisation for oil and gas, nuclear and offshore renewables sectors, has appointed a new chairman.

Paul Charlton, who is chief executive of PDL Solutions (Europe) Ltd, succeeds Graham Payne, who has held the position since 2012.

NOF Energy has also appointed a number of new board members: managing director of Francis Brown Ltd, Jamie Brown; general manager of GE & Oil Wellstream, Bruce Heppenstall; managing director of Phusion, Alex Heywood; and deputy chief executive of the OGN Group, Craig Melville.

Charlton said: “I am very proud to become chairman of NOF Energy. I have been involved with the organisation for many years and I can testify to the benefits of membership for companies looking to develop their presence in the key energy sectors. I am looking forward to helping drive NOF Energy’s future strategy, which will have the ambitions of the members at its heart.”

George Rafferty, chief executive of NOF Energy, said: “I am delighted that Paul is the new chairman of NOF Energy. He has been a staunch supporter of NOF Energy for many years both as a member of the organisation and as part of our board.”
