Fast growing ICT services firm Calibre Secured Networks Ltd has appointed a new technical director.
Shaun Phillips has previously undertaken a variety of technical roles for the likes of Capita IT Services, BT, the NHS Trust and Sunderland City Council and brings more than 15 years’ IT experience to the newly created position.
He will be responsible for providing network and technical design expertise and solutions to the Newcastle-based Calibre’s growing portfolio of enterprise SME, local government and education clients, and will focus on designing and delivering flexible Cisco, NetApp and Meraki systems with built-in security that can be expanded and developed as customer requirements change or adapt.
Calibre uses the latest advanced technology and software systems to design and develop integrated and bespoke security-focused IT solutions.
The new appointment represents further success for the company, which recently won a £650,000 contract to provide St Aidan’s Catholic Academy in Sunderland with a new cloud-based wireless and local area network and data storage system.
Turnover has more than doubled at the firm in the last year, with expansion set to continue for the next 12 months on the back of continued new business and organic growth.
Managing director Karen Nelson said Phillips would be a “huge asset” to the company as it continued to expand over the next few years.
