Proud to back apprenticeships

Team Valley-based agency Mediaworks Online Marketing has given its backing to The Journal’s Proud to Back Apprenticeships campaign.

The firm, named the Top Digital Agency in the North East in The Drum’s Digital Census 2013, has a long history of developing talent via the route – eight current full-time members of staff started there as apprentices. The company is now on the look-out for this year’s batch, including social media and technical apprentices.

It is recruiting in partnership with training providers such as ITEC North East, Gateshead College and the North East Apprenticeship Company, and some of those joining its ranks will progress under the tutelage of technical support team lead Matthew Bryson, who joined as an apprentice himself in 2011.

Managing director, Brett Jacobson, said: “I’ve always been incredibly aware of the benefits of apprenticeships and have found staff members who have come in as apprentices or graduates to bring with them enthusiasm, new ways of looking at things and plenty of ideas.”
