Maplin's new Cramlington store creates eight jobs

Electronics retailer Maplin has invested £250,000 in a new store which opens at Manor Walks in Cramlington next week

The 3,000 sq ft store, which opens on Saturday, November 30, has created eight new jobs for local people.

Store manager Steve Hogarth, a new recruit for Maplin, said: “We’ve worked really hard over the past few months to recruit and train our team.

“We aim to provide our customers with the highest level of expertise for all their electronics demands and I’m confident that our new Maplineers, our in-store experts, will be able to do just that. The team is all fired up and ready to go.”

The company now has more than 200 stores across the UK, a total workforce of more than 2,400 and annual turnover was in excess of £213.5m.
