An environmental services firm which moved to the North East two years ago is now expanding in the region.
Mantank, which was established in Manchester, is set to move into larger premises on Portrack Lane Industrial Estate in Stockton.
The firm provides cleaning services to the chemical and petrochemical sectors and moved to Stockton two years ago with just four staff.
Mantank has since grown its workforce to 25 as another eight recruits are anticipated this year as the firm targets £8.5m turnover.
Richard Valks, general manager at Mantank, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with Mantank’s success in the North East so far-and it’s credit to our experienced team who have put vast amounts of hard work in and showed complete determination.
“When we first established ourselves in the North East no one had heard of us, but our existing relationships outside of the region gave us some great foundations to build upon and from there we have gone from strength to strength.
“Continual investment in our vehicles and machinery is important to us. It proves to our customers that we are committed to providing the best possible solutions for their requirements. A lot of our work involves the disposal of hazardous waste and so customers need to be reassured that this is treated effectively, safely and in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
“Purchasing our new premises has further sealed our commitment to the North East and demonstrates we are here to stay, will continue to invest and are committed to recruiting and growing.”
