The Scottish firm, which has outlets in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, created 10 jobs through the opening of a shop in Newcastle’s Monument Mall, which is undergoing a £15m makeover. And another recruitment drive is due to begin in the lead-up to Christmas.

The new dual-level store, on the corner of Northumberland and Blackett Street, boasts its own “Thrill Room” private shopping and event space on the upper level complete with a decadent Laurent-Perrier champagne bar.

Past events held by the company at their Scottish stores have included intimate sets by stars including Sunderland-born Emeli Sande and Labrinth, who performed for ROX’s VIP customers.

Founded in 2002 by Kyron Keogh and Grant Mitchell, ROX describes itself as one of the UK’s most innovative and exciting jewellery brands and it has been named Independent Retailer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards for the past two years. The company now employs 100 people and intends to grow its current turnover of £11m through the opening of the Tyneside store.
