The operators of Lola Jeans bar and restaurant on Tyneside are viewing three key cities as potential sites to roll out the popular brand.

Former professional ice hockey player Paul Sample and his fiance Lindsey opened Lola Jeans in Newcastle last November, the second venue under the name following on from the Tynemouth eaterie.

The firm is currently looking at Cardiff, York and Durham for potential sites as it seeks to expand the brand.

The move comes as Lola Jeans also expands its Newcastle venue, based at the former Godfather restaurant, which initially created 25 jobs.

The Basement Speak has opened to the public, delivering a “speakeasy” style food and cocktail bar, while also creating five new jobs.

The majority of the building work was completed during the initial build of the venue, but extra money has been invested in bespoke furnishings and interior decor.
