A niche accountancy business that has experienced rapid growth and tripled its employee headcount within six months is planning to take on yet more staff following a move to larger premises.

Newcastle-based BW Medical Accountants, a national firm of specialists launched in July 2013, has relocated to the 6,000 sq ft BW House in Gosforth Business Park, which is also the new head office for sister company, Blackett Walker.

The firm has already tripled its staff numbers from four to 12 and now has over 180 medical clients across the UK on its books. Due to an increase in demand for its services, it is looking to recruit more medical financial specialists during 2014.

Keith Taylor, head of medical services, said: “The first six months have been tremendously busy for the team and we are delighted with the success and overall growth of the business.

“The new building, which houses both companies, is an investment in the future of the BW Group and is an impressive facility for our clients across the country.

“As the only niche practice in the North, we have recruited staff for their knowledge of medical finance and offer a truly integrated team. The benefit of investing in exceptionally high standards of staff with the necessary breadth of knowledge is that we can provide expert advice on all aspects of medical finance, including NHS pensions, personal wealth management and retirement.”

The firm, he added, was “looking forward to a busy year”.
