It’s time to celebrate the best

THE search is on for companies and organisations making their mark in the North East’s Built Environment.

THE search is on for companies and organisations making their mark in the North East’s Built Environment. Constructing Excellence, in the North East’s eighth annual awards, will celebrate what is being achieved in the sector across the whole of the region.

The current economic climate may be tough, but there still are plenty of success stories that deserve to be shouted about.

In fact, it is probably now more important than ever to showcase examples of good practice that others can take on board.

It will stand organisations in good stead for when the upturn begins if they are inspired to follow the lead of dynamic and innovative companies in the construction sector.

The CENE Twenty Twelve Awards are open to both members and non-members of CENE alike with the winners being announced at a ceremony and dinner at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel to be held on Friday, May 11.

Winners will be selected from 14 categories and those winning the titles in each group will go on to compete in the National Constructing Excellence Awards in the autumn.

Applications are now being sought with nominations having to be received at the CENE office by 5pm on Friday February 24.

CENE believes it is important to highlight the excellence that is present in the region’s Built Environment. This is reflected by the fact that the award categories cover the whole spectrum of the construction industry.

The aim is to showcase high quality and innovative services, products, techniques and practices that are being delivered by the sector across the North East.

The awards have forged a reputation for attracting a high calibre of entries that demonstrate the excellent work going on in the region and CENE is sure that this will continue with this year’s awards.

The categories embrace Leadership and People Development, Sustainability, Integration and Collaborative Working, Health & Safety, Heritage, Value, Innovation, SME of the Year, Achiever of the Year, Client of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Consultancy Practice of the Year, Student of the Year and Project of the Year.

For the second year in a row the headline sponsor is Corepeople Recruitment.
