Hunt on for best small business

THE hunt is on again to find the best small business in the borough at the tenth annual North Tyneside Small Business Awards, organised by North Tyneside Council.

THE hunt is on again to find the best small business in the borough at the tenth annual North Tyneside Small Business Awards, organised by North Tyneside Council.

Companies are now being urged to apply for this year’s awards, which will be held on February 29, 2008 at the Menzies Hotel. Last year’s event received over 150 nominations.

Applicants can enter one of five categories for retail, service, start-up, manufacturing and young entrepreneur. All category winners will be entered for the overall title of North Tyneside Small Business of the Year.

North Tyneside Council’s cabinet member for economy and employment, Coun Jim Allan commented: “These awards provide an opportunity to recognise the hard work and achievement of local businesses and the vital contribution they make to the economy of the local area.”

The closing date for applications is November 30. Application forms can be obtained from North Tyneside Business Centre on (0191) 200-6106.
