More than 400 candidates attended a speed dating-style recruitment event for the Crowne Plaza Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter hotel, which is set to open this summer.
The two-day event, held at the hotel’s neighbouring venue the Boiler Shop, encouraged people with various qualifications and work experience to meet the hotel’s senior team in the short, speed dating-style interviews.
The interactive recruitment days were supported by the local InterContinental Hotels Group, partners Newcastle College, InTraining, Gateshead College, Brenikov Training and JobCentre+.
Around 140 roles will be created in the run up to the hotel opening in the summer.
Jane Klotz, human resource manager at Crowne Plaza Newcastle, said: “The hotel promises to offer our guests a superb service and first-class experience that are distinctive to the Crowne Plaza brand.
“In order to deliver on this promise, we recognise the importance of the people who will work in the front-line of our hotel. This event really helped to meet some very talented and passionate people who will be a great addition to our team.”
