A North East-based HR firm has swung into action to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

More than 50 players, including individuals and teams from businesses across the region, took part in Darlington-based We do HR’s annual golf day at Rockliffe Hall to raise £3,000 for Butterwick Hospice.

The hospice aims to support those with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

The event consisted of golfing contests and a two-course meal at Rockliffe Hall in Darlington where the winners were announced.

Darlington-based Fresh NRG was awarded first place, with 106 points, including team members Paul Alsop, Richard Parsons, Mike Thompson and Dave Glendinning.

Brinkburn Domestics, also based in Darlington, was awarded second place, with a close 90 points. Team members included Graham Pilkington, Jason Davision, Brett Race and Lewis Rollie.

The man of the night went to Dave Glendinning of Redcar-based H Jarvis Ltd for being awarded the Best Individual.

The dinner was then followed by an informal networking event and raffle, which included various prizes both golf and non-golf related.

We do HR provides a service for small to large businesses and is preparing to launch its services globally.

Managing director Alasdair Ross said: “I’m really pleased with the success of our second golf event and look forward to the next one already!” We promised the event would be even bigger and better than last year and it was! We raised £3,000 for Butterwick - £1,000 more than last year… Let’s see what we can raise next year! I’d like to thank everyone who took part and attended the evening meal to raise money for a great charity!”

The firm is planning its third annual golf day with individuals and teams invited to sign up.
