A North sales director has beaten off competition from across the UK and Ireland to scoop a prestigious national award.
Lynn Waterman, sales director at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, was named Best Sales Person of the Year at a recent Hilton awards ceremony and conference.
The event, held at Hilton East Midlands, was attended by 200 representatives from the UK and Ireland.
It brought together sales directors and co-ordinators from across the division to share best practice and to look at key messages for 2015.
Although a number of honours were given out on the night, the Sales Person of the Year is recognised as the most sought-after award, which is voted for by members of the sales team.
Nominees have to demonstrate strong levels of performance, show they consistently lead by example along with supporting and converting business for their Hilton WorldWide colleagues locally, nationally and globally.
Waterman said: “Having worked for Hilton for more than 10 years, I am overwhelmed and delighted to receive such a recognition from my peers, especially as competition is fierce because there are so many hardworking and successful individuals in the team.”
Martin Robinson, general manager at Hilton Newcastle Gateshead said he was extremely proud of Waterman’s achievement.
He added: “Lynn has been integral to the success of the hotel since the day it opened and we are all delighted to see her skills nationally recognised.”
