Sunderland-based Hays Travel has made it on to the prestigious Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list, compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City & Guilds.

The list was announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took place during The Skills Show in Birmingham, following a rigorous selection process aimed at finding the most exceptional apprenticeship employers.

Hays Travel’s head of training, Katie Woods-Ruddick, said she was “delighted” about the recognition.

She said: “At Hays Travel we fully understand the value that our apprenticeship programme brings to our business, not only by bringing young people into the company, but also by supporting our existing work force to improve and learn new skills.

“The training team work extremely hard to support our learners through our development programmes and I am extremely proud of all they have achieved this year.”

Hays is the UK’s largest independent travel agent, with an annual turnover of more than £500m.
