A software firm has defied economic gloom to announce continuous growth for a second consecutive year.

Hebburn-based Nine has seen turnover double year-on-year, putting the business on target to see sales reach the £1m milestone for 2014.

David Frame and Andy Walton launched nine in 2011 with the objective of specialising solely in creating bespoke high performing software solutions, for clients who can’t find an off-the-shelf solution either because it doesn’t exist, doesn’t fit, costs too much or it doesn’t integrate with their existing systems.

Since then, nine has become nationally renowned with a broad range of clients around the world, spanning a diverse range of industries such as the oil and public sector, housing, engineering and has more recently seen growth through working with clients in the utilities and retail sectors.

Managing director Andy Walton said: “Our tremendous year-on-year growth has been a fantastic result of hard work, particularly as we are in an increasingly competitive and fast-moving market.

“What has been paramount to our success are our loyal clients and dedicated team.

“As part of our continued growth strategy, we have recently strengthened our team with four key appointments, bringing the team to twelve full-time members of staff.”
