A Washington-based energy expert has won a £22,000 contract to design and install a new lighting system for a software giant's distribution centre in Newcastle.
Glowled Ltd was instructed on the new intelligent LED lighting system by Sage (UK) Limited, a subsidiary of The Sage Group plc.
The software company, which is based in Great Park, Newcastle, now hopes it can save more than £9,000 a year through the new system.
Arzhang Tahmosybayat, of Glowled, said: “We replaced inefficient metal halide fittings throughout the warehouse with an intelligent LED lighting system that is efficient and flexible, meeting the specific lighting requirement for each zone in the building.
The wireless control platform will allow Sage (UK) to monitor its energy use and daylight-harvesting data from its headquarters without having to visit the site.
