Developers of the forthcoming Crowne Plaza Newcastle have appointed a general manager to lead the hotel’s opening.
Andrew Fox will spearhead operations at the 251-bed Stephenson Quarter hotel which is due to open in July.
The 48 year-old will begin recruiting his senior management team while working with developers Clouston Group to oversee the final phase of construction, along with the fit out.
The seven-storey hotel will be operated under a management contract with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and promises top-flight business conferencing and banqueting facilities.
Mr Fox, who is married with four children, was brought up in Ponteland before he left the area to study in Manchester and begin a career in hospitality.
Now living in Morpeth, Mr Fox has around 25 years’ experience in the hospitality and leisure industry having most recently been regional general manager for Q-Hotels, overseeing a
Collection of hotels in the Midlands.
He has previously worked at Crowne Plaza Nottingham, and spent eight years within management at Marriott Hotels.
