A hotel in Gateshead has undergone a major refurbishment scheme.
The 60-room Travelodge, which opened in 2005 in Clasper Way, Gateshead, underwent a three-week refit.
The work was carried out by the ‘MIB’ (Men in Black) team, Travelodge’s in-house maintenance team. It was carried out as part of a company-wide investment of £223m this year to help strengthen the brand. The investment includes 14 new Travelodge hotel openings this year (12 in the UK and two in Spain.
Emma Bartlam, Gateshead Travelodge Hotel manager said: “We are very excited to have been selected as one of the first hotels across the Travelodge estate to benefit from this investment.
“The feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding. By the end of the year, Travelodge plans to have refitted more than 50% of all its rooms.”
