Human resources consultancy Deminos has acquired a health and safety firm
The Gateshead company, which has offices across the UK, has bought OSL (South East) Ltd, an expert H&S, training and Quality Assurance consultancy with a strong track record of providing a full range of safety and compliance services across all industry sectors.
The Ashford-based OSL, which was established in 2001, has assisted companies in complying with health and safety regulations and installing UKAS-accredited quality assurance systems in line with the ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 18001, PAS 43 & National Highways Sector Scheme standards.
Neil Atkinson, managing director of Deminos, said: “I am very pleased to announce this strategically significant acquisition. Human resources and health and safety go hand in hand and the services provided by OSL are very much an easy and compatible ‘bolt-on’ to our existing services.”
Atkinson set up Deminos seven years ago, his wife Louise, a human resources executive, offering advice in managing staff and on employment law to other businesses.
As more businesses look to cut costs by outsourcing the work of personnel departments, he has built up a national client base of firms with workforces ranging from two to 5,000.
The focus, however, has been on small businesses with up to 70 staff.
Atkinson now runs a chain of offices in London, Gateshead and Reading.
He added: “The range of services provided by OSL will provide a value-added ‘one stop shop’ to businesses and organisations who would value the convenience of using one company to serve both their human resource and health and safety and compliance requirements.”
