Gateshead-based Cintra on course to double workforce in next three years

The payroll services provider is celebrating double digit growth for a 15th year in a row, aided by its successful Cintra iQ solution

A Tyneside supplier of payroll services and HR software is celebrating double digit growth for a 15th year, having seen turnover soar by more than a quarter.

Figures released this week show sales at Gateshead-based Cintra HR & Payroll Services grew to £4.4m, up from £3.48m, as the firm continues to grow on the back of an innovative product.

Twelve new members of staff have also joined the Cintra team, taking headcount to 92 and strengthening expertise and experience across the board.

The company, which has in excess of 700 customers, now has ambitious plans to double its workforce over the next three years.

Much of the growth comes as a result of Cintra iQ, a single database HR & Payroll software solution that has helped the business compete more effectively in the large corporate market, attracting new clients with more than 5,000 employees who are increasingly looking for cloud-based solutions.

Turnover is also growing faster now at the firm, having grown by 20% in 2013 and 27% in 2014, and the company believes its Cintra iQ solution positions it well for continuing growth as it opens doors to gaining larger clients.

Its membership of the Payroll Services Alliance has also seen Cintra attract international clients – an area of the business which has seen a significant rise.

Last year the firm’s products and services achieved national recognition five times in the three main industry awards and this year has got off to a flying start with Cintra picking up three accolades in the recent Pay & Benefits Awards.

Chief executive officer Carsten Staehr was also named as one of the top 50 influential people in the industry by Payroll World, for a third year in a row, in a ceremony held in London last month.

Mr Staehr attributes the company’s success not only to its award winning software and unique international network but to the culture of care that runs through the business from top to bottom.
