A TEESSIDE business has welcomed a new non-executive director to its team as it starts a new era under a new name.
Teesside Insurance has brought Gary Lumby MBE on to the board as the Middlesbrough-based company, which is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its launch, is renamed Erimus Insurance Brokers as part of a rebranding exercise designed to give the business a modern identity as it looks to expand beyond Teesside.
Awarded an MBE for services to the financial services industry in the 2008 New Year’s Honours, Mr Lumby is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Scotland) and is currently director of Small Business Banking for both Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank. Hartlepool-born Mr Lumby, who began his 30-year banking career in Billingham, will continue to work with Yorkshire Bank in an ambassadorial capacity and will also carry out his ongoing duties as vice-chairman of the Leeds, York and North York Chamber of Commerce and as a board member of the Leeds City Region LEP, together with several other non-executive director roles. Mr Lumby said: “The directors have exciting plans to ensure Erimus Insurance Brokers give a unique insurance proposition to businesses, combining competitively priced insurance premiums and a personal service of an independent broker with access to global specialists in every sector.
“I look forward to helping Erimus widen an already impressive client base throughout the north and beyond.”
Based at Riverside Park in Middlesbrough, Erimus will specialise in business-to-business insurance, offering a full range of professional insurance broking and risk management services to a wide industry sector.
