Luxury hotel Eshott Hall’s profile promises to be raised after the Northumberland country house was awarded AA 4 Stars.
The hotel’s restaurant had previously earned 2 AA rosettes, and it has received awards for guest accommodation.
The company said the new award and stars recognises the hall’s status as a hotel in its own right.
The Hall, based between Morpeth and Alnwick, was refurbished in 2010 and now has 11 bedrooms, restaurant and private dining and conferencing for up to 100 guests and three luxury cottages.
The business now hopes the AA’s commendations will put it on the map at local and national level.
General manager Mark Alderson said: “I am delighted the hotel has been awarded 4 stars.
“Eshott is one of Northumberland’s hidden gems and our aim has been to put the hotel on the map, both locally and nationally.
“We have a fantastic team of staff and who have work together to build on the success that has already been achieved to take this magnificent property to the level of for stars.”
