A LAW firm launched three months ago by two former Eversheds lawyers has recruited its property partner from a Newcastle rival.
Jesmond-based Square One Law has signed up experienced property partner Simon Priestley from Ward Hadaway.
Priestley was a partner at Hadaway and was previously with Beechcroft in Leeds. He has dealt with a wide range of complex property transactions for both public and private sectors and has expertise in real estate investment, regeneration and development and has helped grow Hadaway’s healthcare property portfolio.
Ian Gilthorpe, senior partner, of Square One Law, said: "We are delighted that Simon has been keen to join our new law firm. He believes organisations want to see a different approach to legal services and is excited about being part of a new type of law firm. We see him playing a core role in the growth of the business."
Former senior Eversheds lawyers Gilthorpe and Alan Fletcher set up Square One and last month signed up litigation partner Robin Winskell from Durham-based BHP Law.
Gilthorpe said: "Although we only launched the firm four months ago, we have been delighted by the positive way commercial clients have responded to our service offering, which combines low overheads and price certainty with outstanding service levels, led by client focussed partners.
"Simon's recruitment to our growing real estate team is an important step forward, he is an inspirational character with great personal skills and is highly respected by his clients.
"We are also increasing the size of our corporate team and are pleased to welcome the arrival of commercial lawyer Marie-Louise Bozonet from Eversheds. Marie-Louise has worked extensively with both Alan and myself in the past and is joining us as an associate."
