Two fast moving paramedics from Northumberland have accelerated into a new career running a model shop in Morpeth.

Two fast moving paramedics from Northumberland have accelerated into a new career running a model shop in Morpeth.

James Ord, 43, and his partner Joanne Cummings, 34, have opened up J&J Models on Newgate Street in the town.

They run the business alongside their shifts on ambulances operating out of Ashington and Blyth.

James said: "We've had a fantastic response. I've had a passion for collecting toys since I was little, especially trains and train sets, so I've built up knowledge on how much certain things are worth.

"We first started a website, with help from Business Link, and we sell worldwide from that. Now we have opened up our own premises too. We want to build the business up, and eventually could go full time."

J&J Models has three floors, with a store room at the top, and opens Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
