Utility infrastructure services provider Fastflow has secured an extension to its contract with Hartlepool Water.

The deal, which involves the management and maintenance of the clean water network across the Hartlepool area, was originally set to end in July 2013, but will now run until July 2015.

The Pipeline Services division (FPS) of the Washington-based Fastflow Group has worked with Hartlepool Water since summer 2010 as its sole clean water contractor, ensuring supplies to 89,000 domestic customers across 92 sq km by carrying out network rehabilitation, renewal, new connections, reinstatement and metering works.

Chief executive Neil Armstrong said: “We are delighted to have secured further work with Hartlepool Water, which is a valued customer. This contract extension offers a continuity of workload and brings job security for our people.”

Fastflow is an independent business offering clients a range of in-house services such as scheme design, streetworks management, project management, construction and 24 hour customer care.

This year, the group’s turnover is expected to exceed £30m, the majority of its operations in the North East being with Northumbrian Water. The company’s Energy Services division is also an approved partner to National Grid for gas diversion and installation works throughout the UK.

Hartlepool Water is owned by Anglian Water.
