North East firms looking to export in the Benelux countries are being invited to attend an event in the region next month.
The UKTI event will be held at Durham Tees Valley Airport on October 16 and will focus on the three key markets of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Key speakers at the event will include two of UKTI’s commercial experts from the Benelux region – Inge Haeldermans, head of UKTI Belgium and Luxembourg and Michael Veldhuizen, head of UKTI the Netherlands, who is no stranger to the region having been educated at Durham School before going to the University of Utrecht.
David Coppock, UKTI’s Regional Director for the North East, said: “Our Benelux event at the International Festival of Business was a huge success and attracted businesses from across the UK interested in gaining a foothold in these key European markets.
“We’re delighted to be able to host this latest event in the North East and look forward to welcoming businesses interested in partnering or trading with Benelux as well as trade support organisations and business leaders.
“The event offers an ideal chance for companies to find out more about the markets and the opportunities they offer and to consider whether or not to join a Market Visit to Belgium and the Netherlands that will be on offer in February to enable more detailed explorations of these very lucrative markets.”
The Local Enterprise Partnership, Tees Valley Unlimited, Enterprise Europe Network and the Federation of Small Businesses are also supporting the event and will be offering advice on other help and support available to local companies.
Topics covered will include market overviews and opportunities, an outline of the Market Visit to Belgium and the Netherlands, support available through UK Export Finance and legal issues.
