THE use of innovative off-site engineering has helped North East building company EOS Limited double both its workforce and turnover.
EOS specialises in off-site fabrication, which speeds up the building process as well as reducing costs by cutting the construction time in half.
Based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, EOS designs and manufactures light gauge steel framing systems for the European construction industry and its areas of expertise include affordable social housing, care homes, schools, and healthcare schemes.
Factory-made lightweight steel frames fitted with precision-cut insulation panels create properties which exceed building regulation requirements in all aspects of thermal requirements and building quality, meaning they are also more environmentally friendly.
The process also offers better quality control as parts are constructed in controlled factory conditions. The company has seen its annual earnings climb from £3m to £6m and its employee numbers increase from 32 to 70.
During the last six months, EOS has won a range of contracts predominantly in the care home, key workers residential property schemes and affordable social housing arenas.
With quality and value for money combined with speed of construction proving fundamental requirements of the building sector in the current climate, EOS's rapid build panelised construction systems meet that criteria and this has played a large part in the company's success and growth.
