A global engineering plastics firm, which has a branch in the region, is hosting open days this month.
The Ensinger Group was set up in 1987 with just three people at the helm. Now with its headquarters in South Wales, the firm has grown substantially over the years into a world leader, employing more than 1,800 staff in more than 20 locations throughout Europe, the USA, South America and Asia.
Since it was established, the company has created six more branches throughout the UK in Waterlooville, Manchester, Bishop’s Stortford, Scotland, Birmingham and the North East.
The North East branch on Glover Industrial Estate, Spire Road, Washington, is the latest to join the Ensinger Group’s stock shapes division which deals in engineering plastics.
The firm has invested heavily in research and development to find solutions to technical challenges faced by various industries, such as in food processing and packaging safety.
Ensinger has also published its own engineering plastics manual, which gives an overview and direct comparison of materials based on their most important properties, modifications and application.
Last year, during its 25th anniversary year, the Ensinger Group acquired Jet Engineering in Glasgow, as part of ongoing expansion plans to the Ensinger Machined Parts Division.
The firm serves a variety of industries including offshore, subsea, material handling, electronics and medical.
The North East open days will be held on Tuesday, September 17 and 18 at the site in Washington.
