Newcastle Racecourse is raising a glass to a partnership that will see a special craft ale, inspired by the wildlife of Northumberland, go on sale at High Gosforth Park to coincide with one of the most important races of the national hunt season.

Eider Dark Beer, brewed for From the Notebook Ltd at the Allendale Brewery in rural Northumberland, will go on sale in the Border Minstrel pub located in the racecourse grounds to mark the Betfred Eider Chase race day taking place on Saturday, February 22.

David Williamson, managing director of Newcastle Racecourse, said: “The Eider Chase is one of our pinnacle National Hunt racedays, so it seemed fitting to mark the occasion by stocking a special guest ale in its honour.

“Eider Dark Beer is brewed locally, is inspired by local wildlife and sales from the ale support British wildlife conservation.”
